A MORAL TEST

When I was in my third year of univesity, I applied for funding for a personal project — a short sci-fi film. The idea was for the film to resemble an episode of the series Black Mirror. I had written a script that explored the theme of artificial intelligence and human morality and I was really excited to try to create something in this genre.

Although the funding was only 4000 BGN, my colleagues and I put in great effort to make this film as good as possible. It was a significant challenge for us because we hadn’t worked in this genre before!

When the film was completed, we held a screening in a village near Sliven. They don’t usually have cultural events there, so our screening generated a lot of interest. Although the older people didn’t quite understand the film, the local kids were inspired, and for the next few months, they started making their own films with their phones.
